Spry Trial 2026 Regs & Entry Form

Entries are now open for this year’s Spry Sporting Trial, which will take place on Sunday, 14 June 2026.

The event takes place again at Willtown Farm, Broadwoodwidger, Lifton, Devon, PL16 0JT (Map Ref: 190/415918), by kind permission of Dave Petherick.

Please note that while we are returning to the same farm as last year, we will be using a different paddock—please refer to the specific driving directions in Section 20 of the Regs.

Marshals Needed!

We are looking for marshals to help the day run safely. If you are available to marshal, even with no prior experience, then please contact Mike Wevill on 01566 784451 or 07498 160292.

Any help is massively appreciated; these trials simply wouldn’t be able to run without you.

Directions to the Venue

From the A30 (west or east), take the exit sign (2.5 miles NE of Lifton) for Broadwoodwidger, Stowford & Bratton Clovelly.

Travel north for 1.5 miles over Roadford Dam.
Continue for approximately 1.5 miles after the end of the dam through Grinacombe Moor village.
Turn left into the paddock field where arrowed.

Important Note: Do NOT follow Sat Nav through Broadwood village. The route will be arrowed from the A30. Please ensure you close the gate behind you, as there are sheep in the fields. Note that this is a different paddock than last year.

Scrutineering: From 11:00 AM
Signing On: By 11:45 AM
Start Time: First car starts at 12:00 PM
Format: At least 6 sections on private land across at least 3 rounds (weather permitting). No public roads will be used to link sections.

Awards & Prizes

The Spry Trophy: Awarded to the Best Performance overall.
Class Winners: A class win will be awarded to the winner of the other classes, subject to at least 4 entrants per class.
Other Awards: Additional awards may be presented at the organizers’ discretion.

Tech & Regulations

Eligible Classes: 1. Red IND, 2. Red LIVE, 3. Blue IND, 4. Blue LIVE, 5. Rookie, 6. Clubman, 7. Post Historic.
Technical Compliance: All vehicles must comply with Motor Sport UK Technical Regulations and must have effective silencing. Any vehicle considered too noisy by the scrutineer will not be permitted to start. Cars must be fitted with a free and uninterrupted differential (no limited-slip devices).
Tyre Restrictions: Tyres must comply with 2026 Motor Sport National Competition Rules (e.g., Yokohama GT Classic Y350H, Nankang CX668, T-Trac 2, Maxxis MA-510N). Specific exceptions apply to Class 6 and Post Historic entries as detailed in the supplementary regulations.
Licensing Requirements: Contenders and passengers over 17 must produce a valid MS UK RS Clubman Licence and a Club Membership card.
All competitors, associates, officials, and marshals commit to promoting the MotorSport UK Respect Code.

Important Notes

Entry Limits: The maximum entry for the meeting is 30, and the minimum is 6.
Vehicle Restrictions: Strictly no unauthorised vehicles or motorcycles are to be taken beyond the paddock area.
Facilities: A basic toilet is available on site.
Refreshments: No refreshments are available on site—please bring your own food and drink.
