Early Summer Evening Trial 2026 Regs & Entry Forms

Entries are now open for this year’s First Summer Evening Trial, which will take place on Friday, 26 June 2026.

The event takes place at Winsdon Farm, Clubworthy, nr Launceston, PL15 8NX (Map Ref: 190/280908), by kind permission of the Green family.

The event is open to both cars and motorcycles/outfits. It is a qualifying round for Launceston & North Cornwall Motor Club members counting towards the Cann Medland Trophy, the Members Challenge Bowl (Cars), and the new John (Stan) Sandercock Memorial Trophy.

Marshals Needed!

We are looking for marshals to help the day run safely. If you are available to marshal, please contact the event secretary, Lisa Gregory, on 07859 929696. Any help is massively appreciated; these trials simply wouldn’t be able to run without you.

Directions to the Venue

From Launceston, take the B3254 northwards towards Bude.

At Langdon Cross (approx. 4 miles), turn left (Signposted: North Petherwin / Otter Park).
In 300 yards, turn right (Signposted: Week St Mary / Clubworthy).
In 2 miles, turn left (Signposted: Avallon Lodges).
In 300 yards, continue past Avallon Lodges to Winsdon Farm.

Entry Fee: £20.00 (£10.00 for drivers/riders under 18)
Annual Club Membership Fee: £12.00 (Day membership available for motorcycles at £2.50)

Event Details

Date: Friday, 26 June 2026
Scrutineering: From 5:00 PM
Signing On: By 5:45 PM (Late arrivals may be excluded)
Start Time: First competitor starts at 6:00 PM SHARP
Format: Observed sections on private land. No public roads will be used to link sections. Double drives are welcomed for car entries.

Awards & Prizes

Overall Award: A Trophy held for 11 months (and replica) awarded for the least points lost overall (Class 6 cars excluded from overall). Motorcycles and outfits will be combined for an Overall Award.
Class Winners: 1st in each class will be awarded, subject to at least 4 starters in that class.
Other Awards: A Novice Award (Cars) and other awards may be presented at the organizers’ discretion.

Regulations

Eligible Car Classes: Classes 0 through 6 (including front/rear wheel drives, production cars, kit cars, specials, and NTFs). Note: 4WD vehicles are strictly not accepted.
Eligible Motorcycle Classes: Motorcycles, Motorcycle Outfits, Youth (F2: under 12, F3: 12 to 15), and Youth Motocross Bikes.
Youth Regulations: Drivers/riders aged 14–17 without an RTA licence may compete in cars if accompanied by an experienced passenger holding an RTA licence and club membership. Bike riders aged 6–15 are permitted subject to AMCA capacity limits (6–9yrs: 80cc, 10–12yrs: 125cc, 13–15yrs: 250cc) and must have cut-out buttons fitted.
Technical Compliance: All vehicles must comply with Motor Sport UK / AMCA regulations and must be fitted with an effective silencer. Cars in Class 5 must use road tyres only on the driven axle.
Licensing Requirements: Car drivers and passengers aged 18 or over must hold a valid MSUK RS Clubman Licence (free from the MSUK website) and a valid Club Membership card. Bike competitors do not require competition licences but must show a 2026 club membership card (membership can be arranged on the day).

Important Notes

Entry Limits: For cars, the maximum entry is 40 and the minimum is 15. For motorcycles, the minimum entry is 5.
Vehicle Restrictions: Use of motorcycles on the site is strictly restricted to authorised persons only.
Facilities: No toilet facilities are available on site.
Refreshments: Vic’s Mobile Catering will be on site.
